Production Log 3

The success that we had this week was amazing, as we were very productive this week and had progressed a lot with the short film and did a lot with the production of the short film. As for this week we had filmed the last scene that we had not film during week one and had also re-shot the Bus scene due to it being too dark and graining, this allowed us to improve the short film significantly, with the quality and aesthetics of it. For editing wise we has successfully stitched together the whole film with effects and transitions in placed and also have placed and edited in the voiceover, music, dialogue and sound effects. We had also edited in the graphics that we have placed at the beginning and at the end of the short film.

The challenges that we had faced this week was the communication between our female cast member bother the original and the contingency were both unavailable to film during the week this was due to the exam that they had. We had asked potential female actors to be in our film and was a struggled because it was exam season and was late notice, but however we had over came this problem by asking one of our close friend to ask his girlfriend if she was available to film with us, and she had said, that she would be up for it.

The target for next week is the placed in the last dialogue , and we would be re-recoding and dubbing in the sound into the short film, this was due to a lot of sound from the cars around the area. What we also intended to do next week is to preview and check any last details of improvement of the short film this could be the colour correction, the sound or the effects. After many changes and making the final cut , we will them render the short film at 1080p at 25fps to match the cinematic that you would get out of a film.

We had team meeting during the whole week during the post production stage we had discussed and developed our short film and had also talk about what shots we should re-film, We this don the re-shot say had also had a meeting with the cast and crew during the journey to the location in southend we had discussed to the actors about the dialogue there are going to say and also talk the camera man to get an idea of how the scene would look like.

The performance from the actors has been excellent as there have followed and stuck to the script, there had also developed the type of character there where, as we see this in the scene of Grace and Tommy , where Grace had a representation of being a supportive and kind person, The director roll was great as he had directors the short film with efficiency as he had used and planed the scene according to the day light left to match the date and the bus scene.

The contingency plans that we had used during this week was the location as we want to maintain the continuities of the short as we had originally said in pre-production that the film was meant to be short in Brighton and had kept a contingency location of Southend

After edited the max potential that we had did this week we had viewed over the short film and analysed if the shorts and the sequenced and fit in and after making a few adjustments we had made the short film flow really well. The re-filming that we had also helped with the aesthetics of the short film and improves the flow between each scene.

The problems that I had gone through this week was the crashing on the hardware, what had happened was that the original computer that we were working on were, had crashed as the final cut file kept crashing as an error kept popping up. How we had resolved this was that we had transferred the hardware and had copy over the final cut pro file to the Mac.

The quality control that we had gone through this week was that we had only moved on to the next scene when we had a scene completed , as we would completed all of the first scenes first and move onto the second one. And through the production we would focus every shot by positioning the camera in it angle and taking a picture to see if the frame was in focus.
