Production Log 1

The filming overall was pretty successful. How this week was successful was that we had filmed 90% of our short film and were happy with the fact that we had filmed 8 out of 9 scenes this week alone and have footage to edit for next week. we did have some time that we had a struggles but had overcame it and

The challenges that we had faced this week was that the original cast that we had asked to film with us had become unavailable due to problems that had occurred on that day, what we decided to do was that that we had used our contingency day to film in Brighton and had go to Southend and had asked our contingency cast if there were still available to film with us. We had also came across a challenge on the day of travelling to Southends that there was heavy rain during that day and from to get to Shenfield the rail line was flooded, what we had did is that we had taking the bus to Shenfield station and took the C2C trains to Southend.

Our next week target is to start the start to upload the footage to the editing program. What we intent to do while edited is start stitch together the short film from start to end, what we would also want to do is that I would like to recorded the voice over and would also like to download and edit the music to the short film, what I would really like to do is that I would like to film the last scene that we were unable to do, as we had only filmed 8 of 9 scenes this week.

We had meet up together before the shooting and had gone over the script and the shooting script and discussed the shoot over one more time, we had also given the script to our actors to revise and practice, what we had did is that we had gave them a background story of the short film and gave them a scenario that there would be acting to. We had also came together and discussed about the travel that we were going to take and split up the equipment to make it easier to carries.

The team including the cast and crew’s performance was great and we had performed to the best of our abilities. We can see this in the production side of things, what we see is that acting through the cast was perfect as they had stayed to the type of character that we had wrote on to the screenplay. The crews were also phenomenal as they had made up to date and kept the production flow easier to work with.

We had followed through to our contingency locations, as we were intending to film in Brighton and through some error we had gone to our contingency location of filming in Southend. We did have contingency for he desk scene of having spare pens and paper but was not in use due to the original resources of being there. The contingency that we had through the cast was George, Danny, Faris, Mathew and Jess as there were our contingency cast, we had used our contingency cast for this project due to some error.

After reviewing the 90% of footage that we had filmed, we were surprised by the shoots that we had captured in some of the scenes, but however we had seen that one of the scenes that we had filmed was dark as it makes it look graining, after some agreement we intended to go and re-shoot the scene again, to retain the quality of the short film.

The problems that we had on production was the placement of the voice recorder, as there was no camera strap to placed it on how we had resolved the problem by attracting the voice recorder the side of the camera with gather tape, so it would be closer to the voice recorder.

The quality control that we had took at the production stage of the short film , was that after every shot that we had did is that we had focused the shot at the subject each time to keep it focused throughout, what we had did is that we had placed the camera in it positions and focused it and took a picture and zoomed in and saw where the force point was and if it was not focused we had redid the process.
