Job Roles & Responsibilities

Camera Operator - Mohammed Iqbal

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible on filming the short film.
  • To create a cinematic vision through the camera.
  • To look after and maintain the camera.

Why Mohammed will be suitable for a camera operator, is that we have seen the camera skills through his work and he had a tone that we would like to bring across to our short film, He also has the abilities to use a DSLR to its fullest , as he know how to get the best looking footage through dark and light environment in a natural tone.

Editor- Mohammed Iqbal

Responsibilities:
  • On stitching the short film together on the time line.
  • To edit the sound and mix it together to match with the visual.
  • Responsible on adding effect to the short film for example colour grading and transitions.

Why Mohammed would be suitable for the editorial roles is he has had experience with the software of Final cut x. Mohammed Iqbal has a great relationship with the director and has the ability to understand the tone and look that the director wants. Mohammed is also a fast editor and he can work around the time that we have to end the short film.

Director-Ben Jones

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible to getting what's on paper to screen.
  • Giving instruction to the cast when filming how there want to act on screen.
  • To communicate with the camera operator and editor on how there want the visual.

Why Ben Jones would be suitable for this role is because we know that he has worked on a variety of different project that he has been a director for and know the ability and the work that he could create, the director has the vision that he wants to bring across as he can express his tone of idea through to the cast and crew and especially the editor.

Production Manager- Ben Jones

Responsibilities:
  • Ben would be responsible on confirming dates with the cast and crew when to film.
  • To book the tickets for Brighton and other location out of London.
  • Responsible for the heath and safety of the cast and crew on set.

Ben Jones would be a great production manager, as he is a good communicator to other and he is well organised and this would be imprtnat when booking the final dtaes for the production in Brighton and he has the ability to work and people scheual and stick to a time that all the cast and crew can fit around.

Location Manager- Sam Mcmillan

Responsibilities:
  • Is getting permission from location we are filming at if needed
  • To location scout and find suitable location that would fit the short film.
  • To confirm the dates when we can film at the set location that we have been given.

Why Sam Mcmillan would be a good location manger is that Sam is very knowledgeable about the location that we want to film the short film at. Sam also knows a lot of contacts in Brighton and knows the good spots to film and would know the travel around the city.

Sound Operator- Iris Mick

Responsibilities:
  • Would be in charge of recoding sound on set, the dialogue we hear on screen and wildcat track.
  • To back up the sound files onto a hard drive and create multiple copies.
  • Looking after and maintain the microphone and voice recorders.
Why Iris would be suitable for this roles, because is very technical person and has the understanding on using the equipment that we would like him to use. He is also a organised person, which will play a important part in production has he will be backing up the sound files and labelling what contains what.

Lighting-Mohammed Iqbal

Responsibilities:
  • Iqbal would be in charger of making the shot in a dark environment visible on camera.
  • To adjust the colour balance to maintain the exposure on screen.
  • To maintain and to look after the equipment used on set.
Why Mohammed Iqbal would be suitable for this job is that he had seen experience by using lighting equipment, such as the soft boxes and the box light he had knowledge about specifically. Mohammed also knows the right type of tone that we would like in our short film as he will fit the lighting to the short film.
