Q1) Are you male or female?
From this graph we can see that the results show that the majority was male, at 80% and females were only 20%. Whilst this survey was clearly taken by more males it perhaps is not what we should expect our target audience to be. We initially thought that our target audience would be a wide variety of people because it is a film that can speak to many people and is not necessarily gender dominant. Moreover, the main audience that will watch this film will be students as it will be entered into the Student film festival which would be both genders entering and watching. This question does not necessarily change our idea either, instead it rather consolidates our ideas, because we did want to create something that would be diverse from an audience perspective.
Q2) How old are you?
This result would show that the majority of people that we asked were between the age range of 16-20. This helps us more because the brief also specified that our film should be aimed at students, thus allowing us to close the range of our target audience. This impacts our idea because we can make the short film more sophisticated adding a certain tone an atmosphere that an older audience would engage and connect more with.
Q3) Where do you live?
This result showed us that the people we interviewed mainly came from Greater London, at 75% compared to the lowest result which was people living outside london which was 5%. The result helps us to understand that the target audience stem from an urban, built environment which would help us to tailor our idea to a more city based area rather then rural. Our idea has not changed because we initially wanted to set our film in a city location, he will further be at university which too would revolve around a city much like London or Manchester.
Q4) What is your occupation?
By adding this question into our survey, it meant we was able to see the social-economic groups that we was asking. As we thought most of the people that we took our survey were students, and were either unemployed or working part time in retail, with the exception to a handful of others. Much like the question on age this question really tied in with the brief in the sense that our target audience would primarily be students. This helps our development of our film, because we could incorporate scenes and situations surrounding some of these job settings, such as a scene in a shop, which perhaps would make it more relatable for the audience.
Q5) What activities do you enjoy?
Our last closed question was about the activities people like to do. The majority said they like to watch movies play video games and do sports, whilst there was a good support for socialising too. This question helped us to gauge what our target audience liked to do, we wanted to know this because we could try and tailor our film around some of these activities. For example starting scenes with characters playing video games, or going out clubbing for the night is something that we could add, with an aim to relate it back to the target audience. We are aiming to relate it back to the audience so heavily because a key feature of our film is the realism, which we feel if we can get that right then the message we want to convey would really speak to the audience.
Q6) What do you like about my idea?

The result that we had got from our survey that include a question of what they had liked about our idea, it shows that the our target audience had option of what they liked about our idea. We had seen that one our feedback said that our idea was "avoiding the obvious crowd", we also had a response saying "i like the fact that its not a world issue such as racism", the audience also said that they like the fact that "it was quite dark, but as it shows the harsh reality of the disorder it makes you feel empathy for the main character", how these results have helped us develop ideas is that it give a real option of what our audience thinks about the idea, we get to see what we should keep in our idea that they like.
Q7) What could be changed or added to our idea? and why?

From the response that i have got back from the audience of what we could change or add about our idea is they had said to "show the normality of life around him," they had also said to "focus more on the symptoms of dyslexia," we had also seen any answer said to show "more point of views," how this feedback would help develop our idea is that it has help us to get critical feedback and has told us to develop our idea by adding more of the contrast, as by shown the normality around him and also showing the symptoms of his disorder. We have also seen that our target audience would like to see more point of view as this may be integrated into the normality side of the story.
Q8) What do you think about the topic (dyslexia) of our film?

What we had asked the target audience is that what do they think about the topic of dyslexia, the responses that we had got from this is that they "haven't seen a film about dyslexia," audience had also said that the topic is a "underlying issue right now," audience had also said that "not many people know about dyslexia so i think that by making a film it would build awareness," how these responses have effected our idea is that it has helped us with recognising if the topic was popular or know to our target audience, as they did say that they want to see more awareness in this topic.
Q9) How do you feel about this particular scene in the film?

The responses that we had got from the distribution of this particular scene was that our audience had said that it "starts it off as a emotional film," we had also seen that they had said that " it brings a tear to my eyes" they had also said that it "shows an internal struggle," the effect that this research will has given to our idea is that it tell us that the seen is emotion and set the right mood for it, as this has helped us to seen if that specific seen had worked towards our target audience. It gave us a sense that the beginning scenes was powerful, as we had shown it in a written form and saw the opportunity of creating a bigger impact to when it is created in a visual film form.
Q10) What issues should we consider when producing our Film?

For the final question we had asked our target audience what issues show we consider when producing our film, the responses that we had got from this was that we should consider the "representations of the topic," they had also said that "who the film all speak to," the target audience had said that we should consider the "main character past", what these responses have helped us with is the representation of the topic, as we do not want to offend people that suffer from the disorder. We had seen that the audience wants to know about his his past, of why he is like of how our main character is in the short film.
